Warrior River Trip

We had a good group of dudes head out to the Warrior River Saturday. Ross's family has a cabin on the river and it was the PERFECT venue for our motley crew!

The roads were awesome to ride and swimming in the river was a great way to relax once we got there. Hopefully we didn't wear out our welcome and can visit again sometime this fall!

Staging area @ GarCo

Spenser and I found some level ground to park @ the cabin. (Level ground was at a premium!)

We took over "The River Cafe" Saturday night. Southern Still was the local band playing and it was an experience for sure. The locals didn't know how to handle our dance moves (no pics of all that mess)

Raf (of Conte Customs fame) joined us on his awesome EVO Sporty. He just happened to drop by the shop and joined the party on 20 minutes notice! This was his first ride on his newest creation!

This is a group shot once we arrived. Thanks again to Ross for having us!

Riding Video from the Warrior River Trip

Here is a little riding footage from our Warrior River trip this weekend. This is my first time using this camera and I can already tell I want a nice GoPro setup.

Had a blast as always on the trip. Some people took it to the next level and it was an absolute BLAST hanging with friends and making some new ones.

I'm looking forward to our next moto-camping adventure!

Another Brofest Moto-Camping Trip

We have a large crew riding our choppies to the Black Warrior River this weekend. The University of Alabama kicks off their season on 9/3 vs. Kent State. I can't believe I found a picture on the interwebs that celebrates both of those occasions!

I'm sure I will get some great pictures of all the shenanagans. I hope everyone leaves their glowsticks at home this time!

Next Generation Cool

Pickett picked up this awesome pedal car for his son while he was at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, KY. He got to work and quickly turned it into a family heirloom! This thing is so awesome! These are the types of things that keep the next generation interested in custom cars, hot rods, choppers (and NOT iPhones!)

Great job Pickett!!!

Ironhead based Cafe Racer

Check out this awesome Cafe Racer that the boys over at DP Customs built. I'm not a huge fan of Cafe style bikes but this is one of the cleanest I have ever seen. The exhaust is killer!

Check out the thread they posted over on Chop Cult:

Saturday Happenings

I started my new job this week as the Red Bull Corporate Brand Manager for Supreme Beverage Company. I took a ride over to Garage Co. Customs on Saturday morning and saw this beast parked in the lot. Cullen was in town picking up his shovelhead that the boys whipped up for him. 9 of us ended up riding to lunch together...that's a big group for us!

This International truck is a party bus for sure! Hopefully I will see Cullen again soon at a work event!

Just a Normal Tuesday Night

Bill and Kita hosted a little get together on Tuesday night and we had a blast. Chopper Ed, Bill and I cleaned up some wiring on Ed's chopper in preparation for his mega road trip. Some of Kita's friends came over with some dinner in tow and we all had broke bread together.

Bill and Ed going over some wiring details.

I'm always fascinated by other people's garages. Every one has a different personality and reflects the person's interests. Bill was/is into classic Volkswagen cars and has this neat car made out of Coca Cola cans.

We also both love Alabama Crimson Tide Football and he has an awesome set of playing cards featuring players from the 1973 squad on each card!

Lastly is another shot of Bill's XS650 Bratstyle bike. It's in for some scheduled maintenance and will be ripping up the roads this weekend!

Working Man

I've been enjoying my new job this week. Haven't gotten anything done in the Speed Shop but look forward to getting some riding in this weekend. The pictures below are of an Evel Knievel lunch box that I saw at Rick's Cycle Parts last week. I thought Bill was going to have a heart attack when he found it.

This is a piece of Americana for sure!

A Few Pictures From This Week

Below are some random shots over the past week or so. Enjoy!

Spenser took this shot of his Shovel while we were on the camping trip

Shot of my bike @ Rick's Cycle Parts while it was there getting the transmission rebuilt.

Another Spenser pic...this time of Bill's XS

Dinner time in the woods!

One of my favorite pictures of all time! "Chardonnay" and Bill after a loooooong night!!! Kustom Jeff captured this moment forever!!!

Chopper Ed's New Saddle Bag

High Falls Trail - Talladega National Forest

Some friends and I headed out for a night of camping @ High Falls Trail in the Talladega National Forest. It was a one-nighter but so many funny things happened it felt like we were in the woods for days! The waterfall (I didn't get any pictures of it) was really refreshing after we set up camp. Here are some pictures I managed to get...

Chopper Ed rode shotgun while I drove the chase vehicle. Kustom Jeff was the only rider completely self-contained on his bike!

Bill, Ross, Whitey, Ed, Jeff and I set up camp away from the "social area" around the campfire. This was the best decision I made all weekend!

Spenser set up our entertainment center in a tree (iPhone
and speakers - Steve Jobs would be very proud!)

Ross wearing Kustom Jeff's authentic WWII Nazi helmet

Do yourself a favor and buy some "Conecuh" Sausage. You can thank me later!

After dinner an impromptu Rave broke out. Glow stick fluid was flying and it made Spenser's bike look like a Jackson Pollack painting!!!

The next morning's gas stop in Ashland. A few of us (cough, cough, BILL, Cough) were feeling a little under the weather!

We made it to Sylacauga for a quick and greasy breakfast at Huddle House. After that we hit the Shelby County Flea Market near Wilsonville and a few scores were made. Ross found some tooling for his machine shop and I popped on an Oak Ridge Boys trucker cap! Score! Great quick trip with good friends. Can't wait to do it again!!!
