Wallet for a 28percenter

Todd, from the Barhoppers, turned me loose on a tri-fold.  This was a fun project and for a good dude.  There are rumblings from other 28percenters about their desire to own a custom wallet.  I hope to get the chance!

MotoCamping Trip to NE Alabama

Boss Ross and I headed Northeast this past Saturday morning to do some riding, swimming and camping in a great area of Alabama.

First stop was to visit Rickey Lewis of Rick's Cycle Parts in Rainsville.  It's always good to spend a few hours with Rickey.  I always leave with more information than I came with.  It's refreshing to spend time with someone so knowledgeable about old motorcycles that is willing to share that info with guys like me!

Michael crafted some new stainless pipes for "Rosie Palmer".  I love this bike!

"Oh No" - Ross dodged some concrete barriers and got a little loose.  He pulled it out though like a Boss.

I kept my camera in the bag during our stop to Little River Canyon.  We jumped off "High Rock" and swam around in cool water.  Here are Ted and Ross once we set up camp at Sandrock.

Ted's Shovel and Brent's 103" Shovelhead powered Tour Glide.  This thing could haul the mail!!!

Good morning Michael..."that rock is as hard as a rock".

Early morning view from Sandrock.  I LOVE this campsite!

We all got packed up and headed home to begin Father's Day festivities.  I got the Barhoppers together for a group shot.  These guys are really fun to hang out with.  Let's do it again soon boys!

I read somewhere that Blackberries are ALWAYS safe to eat but couldn't muster the courage to test that fact.  Still pretty cool though.

That's it...I kept the camera down most of the trip.  It was great riding, weather, and people - the perfect recipe for a Moto Camping adventure!

More from the Hot Rod Power Tour

More from the trip to the Hot Rod Power Tour in Hoover, AL.

"Seized" hahaha

The owner of this wagon started the company "Tap Out" - MMA clothing, etc.  He looked like Sideshow Bob from the Simpsons to me.

Closed Course truck with a 357 ci V8 stuffed into it.  Looked like a blast to drive!

I do love a clean Mopar!

"Weird Load" indeed!

Hot Rod Power Tour - Birmingham, AL

Ross and I headed over to the Hoover Met to check out the Hot Rod Magazine "Power Tour".  This event is a hot rodders dream!  The tour started in Arlington, Texas on June 1st and will end up in Concord, NC on Saturday.

I took several pictures of what caught my eye but the weather turned against us and we missed out on seeing several hundred cars.  Most of what I shot were in the "Vendor" area and were quality builds.  I'll drag these out over several posts so keep checking back!

Apparently that's 727 ci stuffed into a Pontiac G8!

Rutledge Wood, Gearhead TV Personality, was at the Magnaflow booth signing autographs.

One of my favorites of the afternoon.

This demonstrator from MSD caught my attention.  This hobby is for dudes with deeeeeep pockets!

I was really happy to catch up with Jonathan Goolsby, of Goolsby Customs in Bessemer, AL.  I met Jonathan several years ago and have always admired his work.  This Camaro was built for the company Lokar, and was featured in their booth at SEMA.

My favorite custom car of all time, Pegasus!  A 1971 Mach 1 Mustang that was given the royal treatment by Goolsby Customs!  This thing is a luxury car.  XM radio, air conditioning, awesome interior, the works! Of course I spent most of the time talking with Jonathan and not enough taking pictures of this car!

This was the entrance to the non-vendor sponsored area.  The thunderstorm kept Ross and I from exploring row after row of awesome muscle cars.

This wagon caught my eye on the way out.  I really wish I had more time to walk this show.
