Leather saddle bag progress...

I've been working like crazy on these saddle bags. I'm going to finish the left bag for now and take a break for a little while. I totally underestimated how much TIME this kind of work takes!!!

Saddle Bag Saga: The beginning

I've been taking leather carving classes for a little over a month now. I started classes with the intention of making custom saddle bags for my motorcycle. Well, after a few wallets and half a dozen cuffs I've begun my bags. More to come:

We are charging again!!!

Finally got the generator on my Ironhead sorted yesterday. Turned out to be the battery. New generator + New regulator + New battery = Success!!! Now I can ride more than 60 miles away from a battery charger!

I've been away

But I've had a good reason. The family headed to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Spent a week relaxing and soaking in some sun. Kristin and I needed to get away and it's hard to get back in the swing of normal routines. Here are a few pics:

Imperial House strikes again!

Shawn @ Imperial House knocked this helmet way out of the park!!!! Lid is for my Ironhead Chop "Diablo Azul". Can't wait to get my grubby hands on this one. Thanks again Shawn for the amazing brush work!

Almost there...

I spent another day working on my charging issues on "Diablo Azul". After ANOTHER trip downtown to pick up the "new" generator, still no generation! I'm heading back Monday with the bike and either leaving with a working generator or my $$$ back!!! So much for trying to "buy local". I could have spent less on the interwebs and probably be riding my bike this weekend with a charging system that works.

Anyway, I did take a few snapshots today. I thought they turned out good.

Diggin this Born Free Logo Font

I really like the logo from the Born Free flier. I made this leather cuff today. I like how it turned out.

This is my first finished wallet. I've been leatherworking for 2 weeks and it's a blast!
