Camping Trip

Some friends and I are heading out tomorrow for a camping overnighter. I'm driving the supply truck (my trans rebuild is almost done!) while everyone else rides their choppers. I'll be back Sunday!

Hopefully I will be back on my bike by mid week...

Stewie's new Handlebars

Stewie aka Stewart aka 1WayStu aka Spenser whipped up some new bars for his choppy the other day. Very clean design in stainless steel. Looks good my friend!!!

Very clean indeed!!

Saddle Bag for Chopper Ed

My buddy "Chopper Ed" is planning a road trip that will carry him across the country. I made him this saddlebag so he can carry a little more "stuff" with him on his journey! Godspeed Ed and ride safe!!!

Ross delivers BIG TIME!

Chopper Ed's air cleaner accent piece

Ross from Southpaw Machine made an awesome points cover for my Ironhead! He even used "Coca Cola" font as an homage to my day job! He also made an air cleaner cover for our buddy Chopper Ed. I don't think Ed knows about it yet but I'm sure he will be stoked!!!

Some more leather work

I'm working on a wallet for Rickey @ Rick's Cycle. Trying to stay busy while he's rebuilding my transmission! Can't wait to ride my bike with a working transmission!

Vintage Dirt Bike

Bill has taken me under his wing with my vintage dirtbike project. He grew up riding in the dirt and I'm stoked to have some help since I know NOTHING about 2 stroke motorcycles. We're early on in the process but things are looking pretty good. I've got a carb rebuild kit on order and the aluminum CR tank will clean up great! More to come for sure...

I'm back to being a Bastard...

Looks like our Bonneville trip is biting the dust so I will now be attending the Bastard Bash. I've heard good things about this trip! I'm looking forward to riding my Ironhead with a fresh transmission and new clutch plates! Should be fun for sure!!!

Quick trip to Rick's Cycle Parts

So Bill, Neighbor Larry and I took a ride up to Rick's Cycle Parts in Rainsville, AL yesterday. Rick is rebuilding my Ironhead transmission so we paid him a visit. Lot's of neat history @ his shop. He's a super nice guy and has been in business for almost 20 years! Just about every model of Harley-Davidson engine was in the shop (didn't see a Panhead) so there were tons of cool stuff to look at.

If you're anywhere near Northeast Alabama do yourself a favor and stop by Rick's Cycle Parts!

Finished my first seat

I finished my first custom tooled leather seat tonight. I'm proud of the tooling but my lacing/construction leaves a little to be desired! I'm going to run it for the rest of the season and then tear it apart and try to nail the lacing this winter. Oh well, at least I tried!!!

Recent Leather Work

I've been back in the Speed Shop working on some leather work. The triple digit temps make riding miserable so I've used my "inside time" to make some leather goods.

This is my first attempt at a seat. I want it to compliment the saddle bag that I made earlier this year.

This is a wallet I made for my friend Bill. I like making things for friends because it makes me focus more than when I'm tooling something for myself!

Front view of Bill's wallet. I hope to have my new seat done in the next few days. I'll post pics when it's done.

Kenny Powers is the new MFCEO of KSwiss!

Watch this video right now! I'd work for this guy in a heartbeat!

Bill's XS

I got some cool pictures of Bill's XS650 while on our little camping trip this past weekend. Cherokee Rock Village is a great place to shoot a bike! Enjoy!

Cherokee Rock Village

Ed, Bill, Ross and I took the quick trip up to Cherokee Rock Village in Northeast Alabama. Bill and Ross rode while Ed and I caged it (our bikes are both "resting"). If you live in this area and haven't been to this campground then you are missing out. I got a TON of cool pics so keep checking back. I'm planning a separate post just for pictures of Bill's bike!

I'm already looking forward to our Bonneville trip!

I'm a sucker for a contest...

I took some ribbing (the good kind, I think.) about my reaction to the Lowbrow P-Nut tank giveaway. What can I say, I love a good contest! I enter anything and everything. You can't win if you don't play is my motto!

Guess what jerks, click the link for another cool contest from the boys @ Biltwell!!!

The Lady that Cruises

The guys at Garco have been working on a Honda VTX named "The Lady Cruiser". I had never met the owner of the bike but happened to run into her at the shop this week. A color matched 1972 Chevelle and a single bike trailer and she is ready to CRUISE!

"New to me" headlight

My buddy Moon hooked me up with a cool headlight. I needed to get rid of the triangle Aris repops once I changed tanks. Ross recommended I remove them with a baseball bat! Needless to say, the last few changes to my bike have been well received! Thanks again Moon!
