Chopper Ed's Liquor Holder

I finished this flask for Chopper Ed tonight. I hope he digs it.

The design wraps around to the back of the flask. I like the look that the concave gives it.

Saturday Randoms

I spent the majority of Saturday at Garage Co. Customs for the usual meeting of the minds. It rained pretty much all day...ate Lunch at Shonos, then proceeded to get in everyone's way while they worked.

Bill and Kustom Jeff were talking over KJ's sissy bar setup on his Sportster project. KJ said he hopes to have the bike ready for the Dixie Roundup, Big Mountain Run OR the Bastard Bash. I know all about project momentum...or lack thereof!

Larry started work hardtailing a customers Shovelhead frame

Larry is getting the "White Trash Pan" ready for Daytona. Just a few tweaks!

Bill's XS is almost ready to be re-released into the wild. New clutch cable, oil change and a few other odds and ends and it'll be ripping.

Spenser's Shovel. This is one of my favorite bikes of all time...not just because Spenser is a great friend. This bike just has "it". Whatever "it" is this bike has "it"!

David's 1948 Panhead blew a head gasket last week. He's been thrown a few curveballs since taking ownership of this bike. It's all part of the new "old" bike experience. It takes a while to shake out the cobwebs and get to know your machine intimately! Bud Man is his co-pilot!

All in all a good Saturday. Plenty of beer and hijinks to take our minds off of the crappy weather. Next weekend's forecast looks good so hopefully I will be able to get some miles in!

A few more pics from the V-Twin Expo

Here are a few more pictures from the trip up to Cincinnati for the V-Twin Expo. There wasn't much to look at but there were a few cool bikes.

We spent some time at the Paucho booth checking out the "45 Magnum" reproduction engines. Pretty cool but pricey at over 8K!

I liked the exhaust on this reproduction shovelhead. This bike is way too modern for my taste but if money was no object I'd enjoy putting some miles on it!

Some over-the-top murals

I forget the year on this Knuckle but this was probably the highlight of the trade show.

Show Class Issue #5

I'm humbled that the dudes from Show Class Magazine www.showclassmag.com featured some of my leather work in their newest issue! This has given me a shot in the arm to continue learning the trade. I can't think of a better way to start my 2nd year of leatherworking!

Issue 5 also features Moon's killer Ironhead that his Dad bought new in 1975!

Check out the mag if you haven't done so, it really is great! They feature the kind of bikes I'm into and really capture the essence of today's chopper culture.

New Seat!

I just finished this seat for my Ironhead. I needed a seat pan that had more "kick" up in the back. I was always sliding off my seat and sitting on my fender. This pan came from Redtail Leather and I think it is going to do the trick!

I tooled a Sugar Skull yesterday after getting the top and bottom panels shaped.

I also changed from scissor springs to barrel seat springs to get the seat to ride a little lower.

I haven't taken a ride yet, but it is definitely more comfortable!

I'm pumped on the recent changes I've made to my bike. I'm trying to get her dialed in for the Dixie Roundup in April!

Bill's blingin' six-fo

So fresh yet so clean! This is Bill's '64 XLCH motor after getting a rebuild from Rickey Lewis at Rick's Cycle Parts. I'm pumped for my friend...his bike will kick ass for sure!

I can't wait to see this thing come together!

Pictures from the V-Twin Expo

Here are some pictures from last weekend's V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati. This was my first time at this trade show and everyone I spoke to said it was the smallest it has ever been. There wasn't much of anything that I was interested in, again, the main reason we were there was for the Biltwell/Lowbrow Customs Party on Saturday night.

Larry spotted noted motorcycle photog Michael Lichter and chatted a little bit. I've always admired Michael's work and it was cool to meet him.

I had to get my picture made with this Pink Bagger!!!

Chris Callen's Panhead was probably the coolest bike in Cincinnati that weekend! The crowds were always so big that I couldn't get a shot of the whole bike. I'm sure this will grace the pages of Cycle Source soon.

Larry was interviewed by Chris Callen for Rally.tv. I couldn't let this moment pass without getting a picture!

This TRON looking bike was pretty interesting. The entire bike was terrible but it had some pretty cool parts.

We all had a blast on this road trip and are already looking forward to Moto-Camping season!!!

V-Twin Expo Weekend

Road Trip!!! A few of us made the trek up to Cincinnati for the V-Twin Expo. The main reason to go was the Biltwell/Lowbrow Customs Brodown on Saturday night. This first post is dedicated to the trip up on Friday.

Ben came over from Atlanta to make the trip with us. Most of us met Ben during the Barbers Vintage Festival last fall and he fit right into our crew!

This picture is at a "Motorcycle Lifestyle" store in Kentucky. It was a treat for the eyes for sure!

This Panhead was screaming..."save me"!!!

A cool painting of one of my favorite pictures. This was at the Mainstay Bar in Cincinnati. About 8 hours after I took this picture, all HELL broke loose!

Pat Patterson from Led Sled Customs showed up with this crazy van. It was put to use on Friday night for bar hopping (among other activities)!!!

The boys from Lowbrow and Biltwell had us over to the bar on Saturday for an inside look of their new products. Biltwell has an AWESOME tail light in the works. It needs to be on Bill's Ironhead project!!!

Rickey Lewis from Rick's Cycle Parts met us up there. I love talking to Ricky and hearing his stories. He's an encyclopedia of Harley-Davidson knowledge and I'm pumped he's building my shovel motor!

Pics to come later this week of the good, the bad, and the ugly from the actual Expo.
