Sportster Tracker

I'm close to pulling the trigger on my next project.  It's an 80's EVO Sportster that has a fresh engine rebuild.  I've poached the following pictures from the interwebs for inspiration.  I will probably use some ideas from just about all of these examples.

I won't get started until late Summer at the earliest so this will probably be next Winter's project!

Cabin Fever

I'm dealing with some medical issues and have been in the hospital since Saturday. I'm beginning to get cabin fever. I want to go home.

Here's a picture of my motorcycle. I put a new headlight on last week and I like it a lot better than the big square one I had.

Well, that's about it as far as an update.

Cycle Source Instagram "Field Assignment"

Cycle Source Magazine is embracing the popularity of Instagram. They figured out a way to incorporate Instagram images into their magazine.

Each month they will announce a "Field Assignment" with a specific subject matter and they will pick the best images to run in the magazine.  To enter, simply use the hashtag #cyclesourcephotos when uploading your picture to Instagram.

This month's theme is "cool helmet" and here are a few of my entries...

Bags are Back!

I should have held off on my last update.  My saddlebags came in today from paint.  Erick Clay from Jakes Customs laid down a great gloss black on the bags.  It was a great way to finish off this project.

Thanks again to the World Famous Roadside Marty for the bags and all the other parts he helped me with, Big Boss Ross for the kick ass machine work (trees, points cover, sissy bar work), Michael Lewis from Violent Choppers for the stainless exhaust, and Rickey Lewis from Rick's Cycle Parts for the final assembly/wiring.  This bike means a lot more to me than any other I've owned because of all the parts/help from good brothers.

Now it's Time to Ride!!!

Long Haul Shovel - Update

The past few weeks have seen a flurry of activity on my bike.  Ross machined a new set of triple trees and really outdid himself.  I'm going to make a separate post just on that project.

I got my gas tanks back from Shawn @ ImperialHouse71.  Once again, he really took my ideas to the next level and the quality of his work is off the charts.  I custom mixed the "celeste" green One-Shot and the striping layout is great.  I added 1966-1971 Shovelhead badges to finish the tanks off

This is how she sits as of today.  I should have the saddle bags back from paint this week and then I'm done...for a while anyway!

People comment about my headlight (and how BIG it is), but I'm digging it.  With a big beefy front end and a 16 x 5 front tire, the headlight fits right in.

The saddle bag support racks are on, just waiting for the bags.  These bags were a gift from a great friend, Roadside Marty.  They will make packing for EDR a lot easier!

Waiting on warmer weather!!!  Let's ride!!!
